Application development for Long Island

Application development is just another way of saying “make me a custom program.” We have made hundreds of programs. We can make you custom software for any need you have, large or small.

We’ve already written a lot about this process elsewhere on this site, but since we knew you were searching the web using this phrase we thought we should make another page, about, you know, Application Development.

It starts with your need to manage processes in your business or to get reports, or both.

Typically we would meet, and you would tell us of the problem you are trying to solve. Perhaps you would present us with paper  - detailing the information going into the system, or show us reports similar to what you would like to get from the new system.

We would get back to you with a price, and then begin work.

Often we would make a first rough draft of the program, and show it to you, eliciting feedback. There may be a series of these rounds of meetings, programming, feedback and adjustments.

At the moment, September  2017, we are in the midst of making three applications and bidding on a fourth.

We are now:

 1)  Building a manufacturing/inventory system for a manufacture of consumer electronics. This will run on local computers on the factory local network.

 2)  Building a system tracking reports on the testing of medical tools for bacterial contamination. The client tests these tools, sends reports to the customers and bills them for these tests. Our system then will both track tests and print invoices. The system runs on local computers but sends information to the web for the client.

3)  Building a web based system allowing radio stations to report on songs played. Data is downloaded to a local computer for analysis and the creation of reports. “Top songs this week” reports are created.

4)  Preparing to meet with a local fire department to gather specifications on a member database they wish to have us make. We just received a series of screen shots of the old application, as I asked for as much documentation as possible. We were chosen for the work, in part because of the low price we quoted, and because we agreed to the (common sense) idea that the department would OWN the program, not lease it (as the old programming firm insisted on).
