To whom it may concern:
Mr. Arthur Heyman designed, programmed, and supported key features of our primary businesses application, written in Visual Basic for Applications (Access VBA). He was called in to assume full responsibility for the application when the original programmer took on full time employment and could no longer support it. This program is a complex and sophisticated multi-part application that manages our hundreds of clients and hundreds of thousands of records of their parking tickets. The software tracks the resolution of the summonses, scrapes data from a New York City web site, creates billing emails and reports and produces PDF’s. It consists of more than 40 forms and scores of tables, with hundreds of reports and queries.
As with any substitute programmer Mr. Heyman was tasked with quickly understanding both our business model and the workings of an unfamiliar application and programming style. He did a superb job on both accounts. This enabled him to “patch” and modify complex structures in the code and data models, giving our firm the capacity to stay with our heavy investment in the old software, yet allow us to change it as needed.
In addition, Arthur was supremely conscientious in his willingness to put in long hours on short notice when, for example, New York City radically changed the DOM of it’s website – demanding the total re-write of the scrape code. I believe he takes his responsibilities as a professional computer consultant very seriously, and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any position in the IT field. I have no doubt that Arthur could satisfactorily tackle any other business programming requirements.
Sincerely,
Marc Hittner
