We do general computer
programming , though we now specialize in databases
(as we have seen most of the need for programming is driven by
data access or analysis, especially in New York ) we can do most anything on
a computer. We have written software for astronomical simulations on one
end of the spectrum all the way to multi-user games on the other.
These days we typically work
in MS Access or VB Net, but have
written code in Assembler, C, and many other languages. If you
