Linux is good stuff now;
gone are the days of obscure command line interfaces – here is stable, fast,
graphical, and FREE software.
Linux, (and our favorite Linux
version of Ubuntu ) , is a operating system that we believe is as good as,
or better than , Microsoft Windows. Ubuntu can be made to look like and
behave like a Windows machine; you’ll have your mouse and the same kind of
desktop with drop down menus and icons – only this one will be stable and
fast, even on an older PC.
Linux will work well as a desktop
(along with a free office suite of programs including a word processor and
spreadsheet) or as a server.
We can set up a Linux computer on
your Windows network , and let you share and save your files to it. As a
backup strategy this is worthwhile , as Linux is much less subject to viral
attack than Windows.
