About Us

Lost data is due to a specific series of problems, logical or hardware; we can help with both.

On the logical side, your disk's file allocation table may have become corrupted or you may have simply misplaced a file. For the former, we have the tools to search your hard drive beneath and even without the operating system. In other words we can look, sector by sector, across the physical disk, for your data.

This capacity is also useful if you have overwritten a large file called "mynovel.doc" with a much smaller file of the same name ; we can locate the "lost" bulk of the novel. Do not (!) write anything to the disk as you're waiting for us to arrive.

Have you erased your drive , re-formatted it or mistakenly re-partitioned it ? We can recover your data in all these cases, but again DO NOT write anything to the drive before we arrive. This only decreases the chances for successful recovery as lost sections of the disk are seen by the operating system as open areas for re-use.

On the hardware side; damaged sectors of your disk are often causes for startup failure. While you could put another copy of the operating system on, we have tools that can save unreadable sectors and nondestructively reformat the hard drive; we have found this a common cure to what appear to be catastrophic hardware failures.

If we determine gross physical disk failure (they are, after all, merely spinning platters of magnetic media on ball bearings) we will refer to you to contacts with the best repair labs in the country. These methods are far more expensive than our rates, and we have founds that often customers will abandon their data rather than go this route.

Access to data is often lost due to viral attacks. We can assist here as well.
